COME RICONOSCERE L’OLIO DEL GARDA

How to recognize
Garda olive oil
Only if it’s DOP, it’s truly Lake Garda olive oil

Since 1997, Lake Garda olive oil has been recognized as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), safeguarding its origin, traceability, and unique characteristics.

To be sure you’re choosing the authentic product, check for:

  • the numbered seal on the bottle
  • the word “Garda” and the PDO symbol on the label

These elements guarantee an oil with certified origin and a deep connection to its territory.

THE ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF OLIO GARDA DOP
The characteristics
of olio Garda DOP:
delicate, elegant, harmonious.

olio Garda DOP features a fruity aroma (light to medium), with fresh olive notes and a delicate, harmonious flavor. Its balanced profile offers gentle bitter and spicy sensations, with a typical almond aftertaste.

Elegant, fragrant, and versatile, it is ideal when used raw to enhance any dish — from appetizers to desserts, including creative pairings with ice cream or fresh cheeses.

To preserve its qualities, it’s essential to store it properly: away from light and heat.

THE PRODUCTION PROCESS OF OLIO GARDA DOP
The production
of olio Garda DOP:

tradition, care, and traceability.

Every stage of olio Garda DOP production — from harvest to bottling — takes place exclusively within the municipalities surrounding Lake Garda, following strict production guidelines that ensure traceability and a strong connection to the territory.

The olive tree follows the natural rhythm of the seasons: blooming in spring, growing and ripening its fruit throughout the summer, and reaching harvest time in autumn.
Milling takes place quickly in local mills, followed by rigorous controls required by the DOP certification.
The oil is then bottled in its area of origin, ready to tell the story of a truly unique land.
